Production / Scheduling Manager - Heavy Duty Truck Manufacturing

Overview:


The successful candidate will be directly responsible for the overall leadership of the Demountable Truck department including safety, production, and quality assurance.  The Production Manager will also be responsible for accurately scheduling production based on internal sales orders and workload, as well as monitoring inventory of fabricated components and purchased parts.  A predetermined amount of stock is required to maintain a balance of production lead times and inventory costs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Schedule shop workload & provide feedback lead time feedback to sales

  • Schedule employee jobs, weekly / daily.

  • Involved in interviewing, hiring, & reviewing shop personnel 

  • Major Departments include: Base Line and Truck Shop

  • Schedule shop workload & provide feedback lead time feedback to sales.

  • Work with engineering to review jobs - special material requirements and special purchased parts

  • Organize material storage

  • Monitor department shop equipment for proper maintenance intervals

  • Assure documentation is correct., checklist filled out, data turned into office

  • Perform final QC of equipment before delivery

  • Work with transportation manager to arrange transportation of equipment to/from body vendors and transportation of completed equipment to customers


Requirements/Skills:



  • High school diploma required; Associates Degree preferred; Bachelor's Degree considered a plus

  • 5 years of industrial leadership experience is required

  • Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes and principles and knowledge of six-sigma, lean manufacturing, ISO9001, or equivalent is preferred

  • Experience using equipment common to the welding trade (e.g., mig welder, oxyacetylene torch, plasma cutter, saw, drill press, grinder, etc.) considered a plus

  • Must have an understanding of strategic direction, promote a sense of purpose, with the ability to effectively coach and motivate employees

  • Ability to create a culture of continuous improvement with forward thinking

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) considered a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
