Summary:
The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is seeking one (1) part-time position (Environmental Health and Safety Compliance Technician) to help with EHS environmental compliance programs across the University.
This position will also help with new EHS responsibilities associated with the opening of the Edelman Fossil Park as well as the Schreiber Veterinary School and clinical services (already starting with School's remote and farm services/veterinarian location work).
The position will be located on the Glassboro campus.
The successful candidate will work well in a team, consistently conduct work in a professional manner, be detail oriented, able to balance multiple projects at a time, be highly reliable, and have the ability to communicate with all members of the University community.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment, research laboratory environment, trade shops/facilities, clinical spaces, and out in the field as necessary.
There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, and crouching as a part of daily duties and consultations.
Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand.
Lifting of up to 75 lbs.

This job also involves occasional sedentary tasks at a desk using a computer.
Primary Duties/
Responsibilities:
Perform activities related to environmental (DEP) compliance, EHS administrative tasks, industrial hygiene assessments, remediation activities, and periodic EHS inspections.
Providing assistance to EHS / Fire Safety team members as needed.
This position will report to our team's Industrial Hygienist & EHS Supervisor.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time position in Glassboro, NJ.
Hours Flexible however job is limited to no more than 25 hours a week and/or 944 hours per fiscal year.
Travel:
Local travel only at this time to travel to other campuses or facilities as needed.
Preferred Education and
Experience:
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response certification under the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.
120 Standard is preferred.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable).
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Have/maintain a clean driving record.
Environmental Compliance and/or EHS experience a plus.
